The Proven Value of Taking Account of Feedback
Several months ago I delivered a marketing workshop in partnership funded through the UK Government levelling up initiative. The participants were start up and pre start up business owners.
The feedback received was very good with a small number of points to note. A short time later the workshop was repeated for another cohort in the same format and same content with similar feedback.
For the most recent workshop, we took on board the comments received from the first two sessions, made some key changes to the format with pretty much the same content.
The improvement in the feedback scores and comments received were testimony to the fact that we acknowledged what the participants said and made the appropriate amendments.
Every participant scored us 5 out of 5 for content
Every participant scored us 5 out of 5 for facilitator knowledge
100% agreed what they learned was applicable to their business
85% agreed their knowledge was increased by the workshop
Some of the comments in answer to ‘what did you like best about the workshop?’
“Opportunity to discuss my business with the presenters”
“Group exercises”
“Everything, made you think”
“Ideas to move forward with my business”
So, never ignore feedback, your customers are potentially your best critics pointing out opportunities for improvement.
